Downloading Waypoints into GPS Utility
Connect your GPS receiver to your PC
Turn your GPS receiver ON
1. In GPS Utility, go to File menu, select New
2. Go to GPS, set interface options
- Gamin serial port
- Port # 1
- Baud = 9600
- Select only waypoints
5. View
- Waypoints- delete any waypoints that you do not need
- Map
To Print
Go to File
- Print window
To Merge Files
Go to File
- Merge
- Select files and click open
To Calculate Area and Distances
Open desired file
Go to View, select Waypoints, highligh all waypoints
Go to Tools, select Insert in Route (click on All)
Go to View, select Route
- note the number after each waypoint. This is the distance between wayoints
- copy first waypoint into last cell, to connect the feature
- click on Map to see a map of the feature
- click on Reports to get the calculated area of the feature
