This project is designed to help earth science teachers use Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to direct watershed education and restoration efforts in their community. Targeted schools serve students who live in critical subwatersheds that have the greatest potential for riparian restoration, as determined through landcover analysis.

Teachers receive the Project Learning Tree module, Places We Live, which guides youth through a series of activities that investigate changing land use and its effect on water quality. Geo-referenced historic aerial photos of school neighborhoods provide the basis for this study.
