Science Learning Standards to be Adressed

1. Students will plan and conduct investigations in which computers, probeware and GPS are used. (ES.1)

2. Students will investigate and understand how to read maps, globes, models, charts and imagery. (ES.3)

3. Students will understand how freshwater resources are influenced by geologic processes and human activities. (ES.9)

4. Students will understand economic and public policy issues concerning Chesapeake Bay (ES.11)

Meet at Sandy Bottom Nature Center
8:30 AM - 9:30 AM- Intro. to Probeware (Nature Center)
9:30 AM - 11:30 AM- Field exercises, tour of wetland restoration project
11:30 AM until 1:00 PM Lunch and return to Higher Education Center
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM- Entering text and data on TeacherBridge (computer lab 2251)
2:30 PM - 2:45 PM- Break
2:45 PM - 4:30 PM- Using USA Photomaps to get map data (computer lab 2251)
4:30 PM - 5:00 PM- Wrap up, evaluation
